Membership Resources

Finding, recruiting and retaining members is a key set of tasks for a housing co-op. With the current high demand for safe, secure and fairly-priced housing, housing co-operatives usually have no trouble filling vacancies. But vacancies will arise.

Housing co-ops should think in advance about how they find and select new members to ensure their approach aligns with the values of both their co-op and the broader co-operative housing movement.

We also offer general membership resources and policies around over-housing specific to different funding programs and member orientation.
