Personal Information Protection Officer

This is a job description for the position of Privacy Officer.

The key elements of the job are:

  1. reviewing the co-op’s policies and practices for dealing with personal information
  2. making recommendations to help the co-op
  3. following PIPA to provide information to members and the public about how the co-op protects personal information
  4. handling complaints as outlined in the personal information complaint procedure.
  5. reporting to the general members at the Annual General Meeting with periodic reports to the board as needed.
  6. The policy also sets a serving time limit of two (2) years which may be renewed every two (2) years by ordinary resolution at the Annual General Meeting.
