Member Manuals

Back

Member manuals are a great way to bring together all the key documents that members need to play their role in the life of the co-op. They can include the latest versions of co-op policies, co-op Rules, emergency numbers and more. They can also offer a welcoming message, and a little history that helps new members feel they have a place at the co-op and better understand its origins. Manuals are also a place to share something about co-op culture — what are the core co-op principles and what is the co-op’s particular mission.

Manuals can be hard copies, but it will often be easiest to distribute electronic versions with updates as needed.

In addition to a template (in Word and as a PDF), we have also included a document summarizing our “Thoughts on Member Manuals”.
