Legal: Civil Resolution Tribunal

The Civil Resolution Tribunal (CRT) hears disputes from housing co-operatives and members. It’s part of the justice system in British Columbia, and was Canada’s first online tribunal. It also deals with certain small claims, and claims about vehicle accidents, stratas, and societies.

The CRT can look at matters that relate to the interpretation or application of the Cooperative Association Act, an action or threatened action by a housing co-op or its directors, or a decision by the co-op in relation to a member. The CRT doesn’t have jurisdiction over all co-op matters.

Please read at our FAQ for more information, and watch this video for an overview of the CRT dispute resolution process.
